hello i need some help im going to be putting headlining back in my s2 but im sure youre spose to use some card to mount it to but the headlining i have dont have any card do you need it or not ??

so do you just glue it straight to the roof??

 

You should have metal bars that slide through little stiched channels about 3 or 4 of them on the headlining ,this locate into holes each side in the roof of the shell ,then use some glue or double sided tape around the window and door apertures

 

yeah i did see some bars in there wicked sounds easier than i first thought lol

Sunroof models have one metal rod, near the rear of the headlining. its held on round the sides as mentioned, then the middle is held in round the sunroof, the grey strip holds it down.

 

Thanks for this guys as ive got the rear metal rod loose n it rattles like a bitch with the window down.

 

right so some of the plastics hold it up aswell i know it sounds stupid but the gimp who used to own my car striped it out and i cant even remember the last time i saw the inside of a erst lol

 

Weirdly bud im in the same situation with the same car (grey s2). Im off just now with a buggered back so if u get in about it, could u post up some pics please. Never had the roof lining off before. Really need to get cracking. There is no rubber surround round the inside of the sunroof n no fuck me handles! Fairy certain its a homemade roof lining tbh. Guff job of it aswell.
