Drive shafts aren't a problem as I can get them welded and balanced etc, its just mounts I suppose.
It's just that its a 1.3 at mo and its 100% having a bigger engine, looked at st 170, 2.0 zetec, etc, done an rs2000 mk5 conversion which is the cheapest of all, and can pick up st220 engine for 300
Have an rs2000 box sat in garden doing nothing lol
I might seriously consider this in near future
I have seen an old corsa, with a 3.2 v6 in before lol so it will be fun

I reckon the costs involved could rapidly out weigh the benefits compared to fitting a zetec turbo or similar

I was going to say what a stupid fecking idea, but then realised I have a mk2 Golf with a VR6 in the front.

(However, that fits more or less straight in using various parts from the VAG parts bin)

i've seen a mondeo v6 in a mk3 escort, but that meant chopping apart the slam panel for it to fit properly

i would say the easiest way to do this would be to find a complete st220 and then strip apart the whole front end so that it sits on it's cradle and then see how to fit the whole assembly to the front of the escort

there is none of this "use this engine mount, use that mount" malarky as it all sits on a fit and forget custom cradle and bolts in from underneath with 4 big bolts into the chassis rail
