Default Rear light and dash light.

Hi

Can anyone help me? I have a mk4 cab and for some reason the rear drivers side light and dash light are no longer working, its only been the past few days it has happened, i have changed the rear bulb but the thing is the brake light still works and when i indicate the lights come on on the dash and all other lights like battery light etc work, i have looked at the fuses under the bonnet and they seem fine, its just the speedo, rev counter, petrol gauge and water temp lights that wont work, plus the rear drivers light, like i said the brake light works still but not the main light.

Any help will be much appreciated as electrics really arent my strong point.

Sounds like the foot brake fuse in the engine bay has blown? did you remove the fuses to check?

If that fuse blows you have problems like you mentioned above.

its a wire shorting. I had the same problem. it turned out to be a wire I had disturbed messing about with the gauges touching behind the pod. was a pita to find but no big deal. check wiring, the aftermarket bulb holders are terrible compared to oe and the connection isn't brilliant. I had to crimp the connectors on individuallyto get them to stay in place lol
