Default not as fast, not boosting as smooth

my car was amazing, note the word 'was'

found a 4" scorpion full system, thought be good idea to change my 3" magnex full system, did so, sounds great ran poor , ie not as fast after the change. left it few weeks see if i like it, anyway one day got hot as it does, fan kicked in fine, starter motor cooked (broke down it asda) lol

replace that with a transit diesel connect, starts fine replaced magnex again, drives fine boost is not as good, ie it used to boost to something like 12psi on the gauge then hold at 8psi

anyway it now jumps (needle jumping) up to like 10psi rather than the needle moving smoothly, and just holds at 8psi, it dont feel like it used to.

car is standard, only exhaust mod. took off all boost hoses, checked air filter used 2 jubilee clips each end tightened with socket set, turbo wheel feels good, no play in/out, 1 maybe 2mm side to side not catching on housing, no smoke, no bangs, no oil loss,

think i upset or broke something else? all other air hoses fine, maybe need jano to tune it might of upset mfi

your thoughts guys please

actuator or boost leak. it will be one of vac pipes that goes from actuator to turbo housing id have thought. the way you describe the boost spike on the gauge though sounds like a tired actuator. what boost should it run, ie before you had problems? or it could even be the amal valve playing up.

it was boosting 12psi holding to 8psi, now it goes to 10psi holds at 8psi but not smoothly. turned key and amal valve goes click...click,click.

spoke to Jano today, thinking of taking it down his to sort
