i HAVE A MK4 COMBIVAN WITH A MK5 RS2000 ENGINE. HOW CAN I CONNECT THE REV COUNTERTO THE ECU PLEASE

You need a high volt spike for your tacho so it must run directly from the coil negative wire/wires, or a relay triggered from the ECU tacho output which may or may not be calibrated the same as your tacho.

green wire from rs2000 ecu goes to rev counter green wire (if u have xr3i clocks/wiring?)
it may read incorrect as engine is efi & clocks maybe mfi. if this is the case urll need xr3i efi rev counter from a late model

MFI Tacho won't read anything from an ECU signal, too lower voltage. EFI Tacho should be fine as said.

It can easily be done tho. Ł9.99 for a tacho driver from triggerwheels. Use one on mine and its spot on
Just take a feed from each side of the coil pack

I've tried that on two different cars and neither time has it worked correctly, I have no idea why?! lol
So I use a relay on the ECU output to create the high volt spike the tacho wants to see.
