Default hybird turbo

hi all, i am looking for a little advice i am after a hybird for my rs but not sure where to go and how much it will cost? is it better to buy 2nd hand or new.

What management are you running? Is it mfi or efi? Any work been done to the engine?

Tejy the Management is mirosqruit its efi and the bottom end 2l with forge pistons , the head is a fizzy turbo with newman can at the mo it running 215bhp..
Karlos i guess i am looking for around 250 to 265

Then it's an easy answer mate, for a 2.0L you need a stage 3 T3 (.48/55) at the very minimum! Anything less and you be strangling your engine at mid/high RPM and getting things very hot.
Second hand if you can know for 100% certain the spec of a turbo and there is minimal play in the shaft will save you a few quid but a new one will only be about £500 so I'd go new personally.... CR Turbo's, Turbo Techincs, etc.. etc..

i agree with the above but if it were me i'd be looking at standard turbo's from nissan 200's subaru's and evo's . should be cheaper too

Karlos thank you i will get in touch with than and see what they say. I have been told a standed cossie turbo fits is this right?

yes it will fit but the exhaust elbow is different. an easy mod to the downpipesolves your problem

If going second hand then that's a good shout too, GT28R (GT2560R) from an S15 for example.

For both the above options either a manifold or downpipe or both will be needed.

t34 on a .48 exhaust housing i would go for ,get a 5 bolt turbine housing and bolt it in
