I've just fitted vibratechnics gearbox mounts, I'm mid zetec conversion. The gearbox is now noticably sat higher in the bay, has anybody ever had this before?

The engine now sits slightly higher at gearbox end, I'm thinking of spacing the cradle down to correct this.

Nope. How fucked were your old mounts? As they could have compressed over time/collapsed.

 

old mounts work in fair order to be honest.

 

Fitted loads of these to various mk4's over the years and never had an issue tbh. Seems v.strange

 

mines a blacktop zetec, could be the differance?

 

What gearbox?

 

S2 erst box

 

Cant see why the engine would have any effect on box height then. The mounts dictate height, engine *could* dictate angle.
