Default how to do a good engine road IN after a rebuild

hy after a engine rebuild ( new camshaft new turbo new piston rings crankshaft bearing...new BURTON oil pump)
i want to know how to run the engine the first millen?
spec: new stage 2 turbo new piper cam

CO : -14 AFR

ingintion -12 degree

idle at 800 rpm

engine run nicely

at the moment i have 5w40 oil and i have very low pressure at idle only 7 psi but when i give gaz it go up to 22 psi...

well i gone put new 10 w40 oil in and look if it change with new oil filter

but to ride in the engine i don t have to go height in the RPM .... to change oil again?... i have to toutch the turbo pressure ?

thanks

right, irc you should run in on mineral oil. also 5w is to thin hence the low pressure. i use 10w40 with decent oil pressure but ideally after the running in period id try get hold of mobil 1 motorsport (15w50) also, always allow the car up to temprature and keep the revs sensible, more importantly tho, DONT labour the engine. for example 40mph in 5th then trying to accelerate. it puts massive strain on the engine and box. i think 1000 miles is the normal running in time

Run the engine in with mineral oil. Keep under 3000 RPM for the first 1-150 miles and under 4000RPM until 500 miles. After 500 miles gently allow higher RPM for short periods of time. Do not load the engine up if at all possible.

If you have low oil pressure with a new engine build you may have excessive bearing clearances. Did you check this when building?

As per your other thread, the oil pressure is too low somthing is wrong!
You must use mineral oil or the piston rings will not bed in properly.
In addition to what Rob has said i would actually run 7psi of boost as the additional chamber pressures created will help with bedding in the rings.

the problem is that my engine already turn in full synthetic oil and i can not go back to minreal oil its impossible i go to blow the engine one time a engine is in full syntehic it ever can go back to mineral oil it s true no?

my low oil pressure is because i use a bad oil the 5w 40 i think with 10w50 the pressure will be good

No, put mineral oil in like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MILLERS-RU...item257b1f0b49

5/40 will not give you low oil pressure, you have a pyshical problem! As Rob mentioned if you didnt check your bearing clearances then drop the sump and do so.

We are going round in circles here, if you will not do what we advise you to do then why keep asking the same questions??

Before you do anything else find why your oil pressure is low...
Check bearing clearances.
The cam shaft has a spring and ball 'valve' at the coil pack end, check this is there and not stuck open.
Change oil pump.

Once this is fixed then return to mineral oil (the one in my link) and hopefully the bores will not have glazed already.

Everytime you run this engine with that low oil pressure you are a step closer to another rebuild!

What make of oil you using ive seen very low hot oil pressure with comma oil which i would'nt even use in a lawn mower.

Put mineral in and see what happens.

Just cause they're new doesnt suddenly mean your bearing clearances are to spec. Did you measure them properly?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the oil change is gonna do sweet f.a at this point. 3 hours of running is a long time! If you've idled it for 3 hours or if you've driven it for 3 hours is irrelevant, the bores will be glazed or your new cam will have eaten itself from poor run in instead and taken out some bearings

Edit: IMO

60 is too thick unless it's for track use only IMO, it will not get hot enough to acheive the correct viscositiy.

Harry makes some good points and I personally still think you have a nechanical problem, unless that Comma oil really is like water?!

And what's your oil pressure now? Bear in mind you need to have driven the car for at least 30 mins to get properly hot.

your prob right on 60 being no good
and yes comma oil is really that bad had a mate with a rover v8 which never had any hot oil pressure and another with a cossie and a pug 205 with a mi16v lump in it all the same hot pressure was very low..

well guys i put 15w40 of normal mineral oil in with filter change and at cold i have 6-7 bar pressure

and than when is engine hot ventilo is on oil at 82 degree oil pressure is at 1 - 1.5 bar (15 psi) on idle at 850 rpm a little bit better

but on the begin when i start the engine there was white smoke and water who comes out of the exhaust then when hot it stops the engine was 2 weeks of
