Default Which head gasket set

Lads I know asked million times before. Looking for gasket set n head bolts.

First option is gaskets for classic. They do payen hg and a "double ringed " payen hg? What diff? Is the later better option for the few extra quid?

Second is burton . Not sure who makes their hg?

Third is ld engineering? They do a hg set with bolts - hg is a victor r. Works about about 40 bob for it

I believe Payen made the gaskets for Ford.

They seem like good gaskets, look identical to the Ford supplied ones too.

The burton head gasket KIT is good value for money.... However I have concerns to the quality of the head gasket in the kit..... They sell the genuine ford gasket separately.

Genuine Ford or Victor Reinz for me now..... Payen seem to have taken a step backwards with their quality

Matt Lewis sells Victor Reinz and is very reasonable!

I recommend the rubber rocker cover gasket upgrade too.

And get a genuine ford exhaust gasket from Matt Lewis, the ones supplied in the kits aren't genuine and appear to leak when you give it some boost. I think they're missing the fire rings which the ford ones have. Matt does a nice exhaust stud set too at handy money.

Thanks guys.

I have ordered from Graham in Carparts Express.

Going with Victor R HG and Sump gasket. Gonna stick with the cork gasket for the minute.

Fair enough, make sure you check the exhaust gasket for fire ring, if not present then get the proper ford one.

Saves having to change it after a few weeks.
