Hello
Has anyone knowledge of the WILLOOD 4-pot kit (front end)for Escort MK3?
Are they a slight og huge improvement compared with S1 brakes?
Using 20 groove tarox discs and Mintex 1155 pads at the moment.
Remaining on 13 inch wheels is a must.
Maybe some of you folks, have some experience with this setup.
Happy newyear!![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

They can be abit hit and miss. I got a 4 pot kit for my S2, that was Wilwood. They prefer to deal with Hi-Spec kits.
Also if you do find a kit that would fit under 13' rims bear in mind the ofset etc. The kit designed for the S2 RS(think its 260mm discs and the calipers for 15' alloys) does not fit behind the standard alloys unless you have 3mm spacers to clear the caliper.
Post a link of the kit you found.

The more I look into it the more options I get.
Looking at High Specs webpage i see lots of race conversions, which are fit for 13 inch wheels.
Both 4 and 6 pot kits with up to 283 mm discs.
So which kit to buy!
Someone must have tried theese 13 inch kits?
Apart from the money to spend, set off is the big question and will it improve my braking!

Okay
Not many seems to have any interest or knowhow at this subject. Fair enough!
Let me ask in another way.
If going for 15 inch whels, do Willwood 283mm 4pot kit or HiSpec similaror
do any good beside maybe looking good?
Theese options or cossie ones (second hand)
As the original 290mm AP Grp. A from the mid eighties are no longer availble.
Did I mention that its for rallying and not for cruising around the streets.

You could try fitting cosworth 4x4 calipers with 2wd 283mm discs of a sierra rwd cosworth. Just need washers between hub and caliper mounting bracket and new brake hoses. Guide here https://passionford.com/forum/ford-e...07-2011-a.html

yes that kit fits behind 15' alloys, but the alloy must have the correct offset to clear the caliper. 6.5j wont clear hi-spec 283mm 4pot kit but 7j will.

Just a thought, you're asking if people have fit these behind 13' alloys/steelies. Bear in mind the RS came with 15' alloys. You're best of asking in the car disscusion section as this thread is in the wrong section tbh.

I'm looking at doing this conversion on my s1
My friend is breaking his s2 with the wilwood calipers when he fitted my s1 alloy on too it, the calipers was fine inside the wheel but the inner arch was hitting poss looking around a 5mm spacer needed, but I haven't measured anything yet just from what my mate was saying

3mm spacer is minimum required on a S2 to clear on the Hi-spec. I did have Wilwoods to fit under 15' aswell but the caliper didnt fit over the 260mm discs( full kit supplied by Burton Power) So never bothered putting the alloy over the caliper to see clearance.
