Default Were early S2's manual wing mirrors black or colour coded?

Hi there,

Trying to get my early S2 back to 88 spec. It has electric mirros fitted but no loom or switches. So I have some manual ones in standard factory black plastic finish.

I thought I'd read that the manual mirrors were black and the optional electrics were colour coded.

can any one confirm what finish the manual mirrors were in from factory please?

Thanks,
Stu

Depends on original vehicle trim finish in most cases. I have seen (and have got) electric mirrors on black grained finish and manual on colour-coded before.

An XR or RS will have colour-coded mirrors regardless though. You can swap the internals though between both types.

as said, all RSs had colour coded, but orions and escorts could have either with electric or manual, like the GL, non colour coded mirrors, but electric,

Is it easy enough to do or could I end up with 4 knackered mirrors?
