Default Some basic help please, never had a forced induction car before. Questions

Hi,
I'm looking for a Series 2 because I've always loved them.

I know the basics of turbos, how they work, and that ignition needs to be retarded as boost builds and fuelling inceased etc, but nothing ford specific. I was hoping some light could be shed on a few questions.

I know Ahmed Bajoo is a good tuner, I have been round cars long enough to have heard of him, however what is his Limited boost chip? What does it do power wise?
I have seen cars that state switchable boost. 8psi to 14psi as an example. How does this work?
I thought the wastegate opened at a set psi and that was set?

This next question may be linked the the latter part of the 1st one, what is a -31 actuator, what does it do and why is is it better than the stock one?

I've been told that Escort RS Turbo's will make a 'cool' chatter noise through the intake/turbo when changing gear. Do they all do this or is it an indication that somethings been messed with just to get the noise?
I'm also been advised that a dump valve isn't necessary, which would be ideal as I find them annoying and remind me of Southend Seafront in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Any help will be appreciated, I want to get clued up as much as possible as quickly as possible so I can go into a purchase with my eyes wide open.

There will probably be more questions in the near future you think are daft so please bear with me!

that will be unlimited boost chip mate, means chip will run over 15psi but dont just go turning the boost up lol. ahmed bayjoo is a good tuner especially for mfi equiped rs turbos.

switchable boost is basically a switch that turns the amal valve on for high boost and off for low boost. better off with a electronic boost controller though.

-31 actuator just has a stronger spring inside to hold boost better than a standard actuator.

escort rs turbos with mfi dont flutter to loud as the metering unit muffles the sound, the fiesta turbo is better as theres nothing in the way to stop thje sound. dump valves arent needed and imho make the turbo work harder plus sound gash and leak anyway so dont bother.
