As said, probably clutch judder. What clutch has it got in it? Paddle clutches tend to judder when pulling away. Organic ones can judder if the lining is contaminated with oil. Crankshaft rear seal or gearbox input shaft seal are the usual culprits for this. Could be worth looking at the engine/gearbox mounts as well, if they're shot, it can allow the engine and box to move too much when you take up drive.

before i go spending lots of money, ill start off with easy stuff?
it was never really noticeable before, but as soon as i put the 1.8 diesel box in it was really bad so doubt its flywheel, its got to be something else, i was thinking maybe a mount is loose or do you think i should adjust the clutch lever as it only pulls back about 20 mm?
maybe if i make it so it pulls back more?
and another thing ive noticed are if i sit with handbrake on and in first and let off clutch, engine moves about 50mm back???
also if i slightly boot it from stopped in first it dont judder?

do you think it could be thrush bearing as its screeching loudly when i put it in gear and it will only go iton gear now it i shorten clutch wire by shoving a pair of mole grips on the end of wire?

defo clutch judder, some cheap clutches do it, paddles do it alot, warped flywheel can cause it, not known a release bearing to cause it though

Sorry I can't be of much help, but I find the prospect of it being thrush bearing quite amusing

I believe there is a certain 'changeover year' release bearing you need to use when using front starter ib5 with a cvh.

Alternatively you could sell me your gearbox and ill go through the hassle of finding all the bits.

But I'd rather it came without the thrush.

Have a quick search on here for change over year ib5 bearing.

ive sorted it now, was the lever bit the thrust bearing sits on, when i had my s2 lsd cvh boxout and 1.8 diesel box out i swapped the levers around without realising, lol
so i put the cvh release lever in the diesel box and it was JUST not releasing enough, so i put diesel one back in using the diesel release bearing and its spot on now!!
also the very slight judder ive always had is because im running a paddle clutch so all good now cheers guys
