escort ofab efi problem
Hi guys im new on here and im looking for some help for my brother who has converted his escort to efi. the spec of his car is as follows:
1.9 bottom end,
Frst efi head,
Uprated cam,
T34 cosworth turbo,
Front mount intercooler,
Xr3i efi complete car loom,
Frst ofab managment.
hes followed the guide on rs bible regards changing the pins in the plug to the ecu and as it stands the car starts but wont idle. It will however run on part throttle.
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated
Thanks kieran

Hi, yeh he had it originally running on ofac with ofac map sensor but changed it over to ofab inc the map sensor. Hes getting frustrated with it now because hes put alot of time and effort into restoreing it and just cant get it running right.

wont idle i bet you its the idle valve, there are two plugs that are the same colour wires, brown/ yellow and black, but only one is for idle valve, other is a octain adjust i do believe?!?! anyway find the pin in the ecu and see which wire is going to that pin just to eliminate that.

Right spoke to my bro about this, hes checked the wiring from all the sensors back to the ecu and he beleives they are all ok. He said last time he worked on it, it would misfire, not rev amd refuse to idle.

just a thought but try unplugging the air temp sensor on the manifold and see if it idles normally with the plug removed. if so its the polarity on your wires to your plug, ive had this before so may be worth a try
