Has any one had a problem with throttle cables? The black retaining ring which holds the cable into the bulk head keeps popping out and making my throttle jam open! It looks like the teeth are not long enough to grip the other side of the metal. Have i bought a cheap one or the wrong one?

 

i put a cheap one on mine and had the same problem i ended up getting a genuine one in the end.

Mined did that, dangerous, I sorted it by putting a hose clip on the passenger compartment side to stop it pulling back through.

 

I got a new throttle cable from local motor factors....I noticed it was quite a loose fit, but the black clip held it on ok, few days later I put my foot to the floor and the peddle didnt come back up!!!I cant believe they sell these really, its so loose it allows the clip to jam the peddle! never again!

 

Mine also did this when I bought a cheap motor factor cable after my original broke. Not good that so many of us have experienced it.
