are these interchangeable?

i used to own a 90 spec escort (petrol gauge on left) and replaced the dials with lockwoods which looked really good.

my new toy is an 88 spec and i assume has the petrol gauge on right, and i there fore cant get the dials i want from lockwood in the correct colour combination.

are they a straight swap or do they need rewiring to work? i know i may have to get a speedo cable and a drill to get the mileage right

88 spec and 90 spec are different as in the fuel gauge its all plug and play . But will read wrong

Because the cables are wired up different with the same plugs . It's also like when you put efi clocks into an mfi car on the rs turbo don't get a good reading
