Default 1900cvh

Hi is there any way i can tell my engine is a 1900 without removing the cylinder head??

A tall 1.9 block will not have a 1 6 number on it.
The casting looks a little different too.

I will attach a couple pics for you.

Note the reinforced webbing on the back side(oil filter side) of the 1.9 block.

Ok cheers for the info is it possible for my 1600 to be bored to 1900 as that's what iv been told had been done?

Just as mine looks inless you have a bored out 1.9 as some companys did useing different cranks and rods I believe

the 2 most common 1900 conversions are power engineering that is a massively overbored 1600 block or specialised engines
specialised engines say it is based on the 1900 but it is in fact the sierra 1800
none of them are the true american 1900 cvh

i seem to remember the block was a weakness on big power 1900's. is this true and if so, what sort of hp is the safe limit. also, are the specialised engines any good? i got the impression some people have not too good services. sorry for hijacking, just wondered since were on the subject of 1900 cvh.

Thank you for your replies, anyone know roughly what diameter the bores will be when I take the head off if it's been bored out??
