Cool, get them to tell you the exact spec of the turbo too.

i did unplug coil pack when i did it but if your saying it has to be warm an throttle open ill have to do it again lol. i dont have anyone that is clued up enough to look at it thats the problem
If it still doesn't boost next week give me a call and I'll have another look. The last time I saw it the waste gate wasn't working so we stopped looking for any further probs

When you get your turbo back, if it still doesn't work I'll lend you a boost leak tester.

A large boost leak will often make less noise than a small one. I had no boost once and it was a loose hose on the intercooler.

Yeah they are going to tell me spec of turbo mate as im interested. if you could take a look that would be great you can pick your bits up then aswell cheers Rob. i do have a leak tester that i made to go on turbo i can hear i lititle leak somewhere but can't work out where. i put 10psi in an it slowly goes down to 0

Nope, not a boost leak then everything is pointing at it being turbo related.... as long as there are no collapsing hoses, exhaust leaks before the turbo etc?

compression test done right this time an the readings are 190 190 190 190 please tell me thats good

It's good compression (healthy engine), but whether too high for your intended spec I don't know.

Its a lot more promising than 250 psi, when you do compression checks a nice consisten result across all 4 pots is definitely good news

well the first one was about 185 not much difference bit gutted if i cant get as close to the 400bhp i wanted

Just got off phone to cr turbos they have told me turbo is not in bad nick just a little play in bearing so they are now putting a 360 thrust bearing in an they also told me that it is a real garrett not a fake lol. i asked them what turbo is rated to an was told it will take up to about 450/500bhp so happy about but still dont know why its not boosting. i asked them if they had any idea an the kiddy said he had same problem an it turned out to be the manifold where it wasnt air tight an mines not either an its only happen since fitting new turbo an manifold

A 500 hp turbo on a Zetec will start boosting very late.
High HP turbos take alot of air to start boosting.
Hondas rev to 8000+ rpm, zetec's do not.

dont get me wrong mate im very greatful for the help. i spoke to the bloke i bought it off an he said it came on full boost at 3k so ill be happy with that

As perry has said mate,this turbo will be nowhere near full boost by 3000rpm
Also with it been a journal bearing an not a roller bearing to.

If you're reving it up past 5k and it's not boosting then you need to be looking at the inlet and induction system. A bypassed and blanked off external wastegate should have that spooling if the turbo isn't too big for the engine. Either it's not spooling which means the problem is on the exhaust side, or it is spooling but the air it's producing is not getting to the inlet manifold, which means split pipes, intercooler etc...

Right thanks to crazycage i have now got my car boosting i have taken intercooler off an piped turbo straight to throttle body so i think my intercooler is fucked. thank you everyone for helping out im very greatful
