no trick question was talking to a m8 today about s1's and was asking was any made in black.. i know about lady di but was it the case that was the only one ever made or was there a small amount made for a number of people

I know of an additional two confirmed as original black issued cars, totaling three. I know the owners of all three 
All Seem to have HRH/related history. The two are rumored to have been diversionary tactics to steer the paps away from their real target.....
Happy to be corrected however.

3 were made by Ford,one for Di and it's believed that one of the others was used as a decoy car for her,these were C reg.There's also a B plate that came form the factory in black,i think it's the one that Mr Fuller owned,that could have been the decoy car though,can't remember it all now but it's all on the S1 site.

well from looking on the internet there seems to be only 1 black s1 every made and it was the one that lady di owned and is now owned by mark bailey

I was told of two. One for di and one a decoy. Think she also had a 205 gti. You wouldn't do a decoy with a different plate... The pap ain't stupid, they can read. Also I would say they wouldn't tell you of a decoy at the time!

Right I been researching and basically only 1 was make in black from ford and has the vin plate saying black in Germany. 6 others were then sprayed by ford dealerships for other customers along with one in orange

I heard there was only 2 gen black s1's di's 1 and a black decoy and 5 reds which were all 4 the datapost team, there were a good few that were painted by ford dealers but all were gen white 2 start with,and that was from ford heritage! Would they b wrong?

There is at least 2 geniune factory black cars. 1 is Diana's car as we all know and the other has royal connections also. That car also has 'Schwarz' on the colour plate and has the documentation to back up the history.

How did the decoy work? Say she was bobbing to the shops did they have a actor hiding round the corner with a blonde wig on in the 'other' black one ready to spring into action to shake off the enemy? LOL
The grey one was featured in one of the Ford mags a good few years back. IIRC sure it was a bit tarted up

What does "fake" mean?
If I car was sprayed at a dealership by ford in black... I don't think you can class that as fake
And I thought one was made in black for di husband?

You've just made that bit up or been fed something unfortunately. There are NO photos of Charles being in or near a black S1 so that cannot be confirmed.
That car is in very good condition. It isn't owned by the insurance guy mentioned above but that particular car is owned by someone else with a passion for the cars.
The car the insurance guy owns is also black however and does have history, but the whole story is unknown and nothing is known 100% unfortunately.
Mungus and Steven have given you the correct KNOWN information right at the top of this topic.
Anything else is just internet tales, untruths, guess-work or made-up from people that don't know what they're talking about.
