I have converted my Series 1 RST to EFI using weber/cosworth management, consisting of an L6 ecu with wasted spark/coil pack etc, A bespoke engine bay loom from carlooms (Ryan) but I am struggling to get the rev counter to work, Does it need something else to make the rev counter to work as I have tried both the connections on the loom plug ( 1 for oem rev counter, and other for aftermarket rev counter) with no joy, also is there as specific pin on the ecu that the rev counter signal is from, so that I can check the continuity on the loom back to the ecu.
Thanks
Thanks

The ECU has nothing to do with the tacho (In the case of both your car and the ECU you now have) the signal is taken from the negative side of the coil. (Green wire, you will have to connect this to your coil pack)
When going W/S you need to do a mod to the rev counter in addition, MSD give you instructions I believe?
However I am not sure it will work with your tacho, seen as it's designed for the Cosworth as tachos are scaled.

Thanks for replys, No green wire visable as the loom is bespoke engine loom made for the wasted spark set up, not a add on.
The car will eventually (when funds allow) go to Jano for set up, as it just has a base map in it to get it running, but I am trying to get it close to finished as possible, so MSD might have the answer then. I will give them a call and see if they have the answer. Thanks again.

when mine was running on wasted spark the rev counter/tacho wire came from the hair brush, when I removed the wasted spark set up the rev counter was wired to the - on the coil, (green wire)

I am thinking diodes! They are like a one way valve for electricity. If you run a wire from the coil pack green wire to the back of your series 1 clocks what happens? Do they read half what they should do?
