Default MFI Fuel Pipes

The Fuel pipe to & from my fuel filter have been kinked and damaged at some point so need replacing but just wondering if its possible to replace them with rubber fuel pipes using the original unions.

Anyone know if this would work? If not anyone got any for sale.
(Escort RS Turbo, S2)

Cheers Peter

New pipes still available from Ford - i got the one i was after about a month ago - the one from Fuel Accumulator to fuel filter.

Give them a try - the FINIS for the one i got was 1644256 - cost me £12.42 + VAT.

That looks about right actually, typical. It wasnt me that did it by the way!! haha

I think it would look tidier if I could change them to black rubber hose, has anyone tried or know a reason it wouldnt work?

MFI RST's need hard fuel pipes so they do not expand/contract resulting in variations in fuel pressure and your AFR's! This is why you shouldn't run braided lines from the metering unit to the injectors either, they may look nice but compromises accurate fueling.

Ah, they you go, cheers. I thought there must be a reason I have never seen them in rubber.

Right does anybody have replacement ones for sale?

Noticed this post the other day I couldnt help but go out and inspect mine. Noticed that my fuel piping from the Fuel pressure regulator to metering head and fuel pressure regulator to fuel return are both kinked. What will this do to the car whilst running, will this alter my fuel pressure and what will it do to my engine??

snapped my red one from the metal pipe to metering unit, so bought rubber fuel hose from ebay and some jubilee clips slided the rubber over the plastic and tightened up.

Then decided to buy the braided fuel lines from the tank and found the one to the black plastic hose was slightly to short, so fit rubber hose to make it longer and jubilee clips again. Both work fine and no leaks. The rubber hose per each line isn't overly long.

I have heard that the red plastic pipes after the metering unit should be kept as mentioned above.
