Default Rear disc conversion

Anyone done it with any other calipers other than sierra ones?
Reason being, i've got a pair of mk4 golf rear calipers and mk3 fiesta solid discs kicking about in my garage. Just wondering if that would work ok without locking the back wheels up all the time?

Nothing wrong with the drums btw, discs just look nicer and are easier to maintain!
