Hello,

Just rebuilt my s1, got it started but it runs lumpy and has loads of black smoke coming out the back? Was ok I think till it warmed up. Any ideas? Have already tried running it with cold start valve unplugged. But I THINK the cold start only opens when on ig 3 if I am right, so that won't make a difference anyway

I had this on my Focus the other night and it was a lead defective. Plugs were on their way out too.

have you got all the plugs on the correct sensors?

I have all the plugs on the correct sensors as the are colour coded. Might try sticking a new set of spark plugs in it and turning the metering head down a tad. Is it clockwise to turn the fuel down?
