I have my car on axle stands in readyness to repair the slipping clutch, I started it up put it in first gear on idle and was able to stop any one of the front wheels. Should I be able too? I know there is a test in the Ford manual where one wheel is place on the mot brake rollers and the car has to pull its self out in a certain time but it's to late for me to try that now.

I definately have a lsd box my problem is, is it working or do you have to be alot more aggressive with the revs for it to lock. It has left 2 black lines in the past but it done a fair few miles now.
Hit a tight corner hard in 2nd, roundabout etc and see if 1 wheel spins (the inside wheel) or it grips and pulls you round the corner, if its good you can feel it pulling the wheel into the corner...
Altho if your running good power you could just spin both front wheels and end up with no steering and have to lift out of it...
All good fun tho - enjoy!

Far easier and safer than any of the above, merely turn one driven wheel by hand (Out of gear obviously), if the opposing sides wheel spins the opposite way you have an open diff, it it turns the same direction you have a LSD!

an to test how tight the diff is, im sure you dot need any advise there lol
but very cheap to get tightened an shims put in place to make them lock when you wanna have some fun
