Default Ticking noise

Hey guys.

Was out in motor last night, all was well.Parked up for 5mins and started back up to hear this ticking noise that
Never goes.More noticable at idle. My thoughts were tappits, worn cam, pullery bearings gone or even oil pump?
Have no light on for oil pump, oil getting into the head fine,no random fragments.cam done about 30k and has black bits on side of the lobes where hits tappits up and down, not sure if that normal or means new cam?
Pullery makes a kind of ticking noise like sticky bearings but aint as allowed spinning by hand but might be the cause.
Whats your views please,cheeRS

Some times at idle it would go but once your doing around 15 to 20mph,tick tick tick but once 30 or above you hear nothing.
Very strange.

Only way to explain it,its like a ticking cartoon bomb lol.sound coming from cam belt side.had the tappits out,no major heads spinning or missing but know a faulty tappit can look fine.

Hi - going to go a bit "leftfield" here but symtoms very similar to a problem I had with a ticking/tapping sound and this was certainly more noticable at idle and disappeared at speed.

Check your exhaust manifold gasket !!!

I had the exact same symtoms and in the end i tracked it down to a leaking exhaust manifold gasket - sound unlikley but it was certainly the problem on mine.

Any advice is welcome so thanks dude.
Changed my belt tensioner while i was at it.checked over my cam and noticed the far right lobes are worn,as more oval shape than the far left. Put it back together and ticking gone. Got cam kit etc on order still.
My next issue is turbo noise got louder.bloody hell lol.
