Default RS Turbo exhaust mount

Hi guys,

I bought this chrome exhaust mount from Ebay about a year ago listing as escort rs turbo exhaust mount but when I eventually got round to fitting it at the garage they told me and even showed me that it doesn't fit any where underneath the car, can any one help me by telling me what car this exhaust mount is for?

I think it bolts to the underside of the car just after the engine bay finishes near to the drivers side front chassis leg

Yep fits on drivers side chassis leg just back from the inner TCA mount! For a magnex iirc.

Hi mate, I've got a full scorpion exhaust system does that mean it won't fit because it's not a magnex?

Does your exhaust have a hanger that would be able to use this? If there's no hanger on your pipe just behind the engine bay, you wont need it.

I have a Magnex exhaust, and it does have a mount after the engine, but it is very different. It is a not of a straight type, but a 90deg or a T-shape.
This could be used at the rear transverse chassis leg though. This is where a mount is always needed, but doesn't exist as standard. This looks like it could fit there.

yeh, as muz's pics show, its defo the front hanger, as the 1 that fits to the chassis between the rear trailing arms is a 90degree bend. if u fitted this 1 at the rear, it would foul on the rear arm and be useless

Thanks for your help mate so I take it the bracket I've got is useless as I haven't got a Magnex exhaust for it to fit on.

Hi mate i have a bracket like that and its stops the exhaust hanging down to low at the rear of the car, however that is deffo a front one you have there mate as the one for the rear has a 90 degree bent were the rubber pushes on so that it does not foul on the rear arms.

Hi mate, does this mean the bracket I've got is useless as I haven't got a Magnex exhaust for it to fit on?

Not to sure on that mate, but if you know a s/steel exhaust bloke he will be able to weld a hang on to your exhaust so that you can use that bracket

But with regards to the chrome one, thats deffo a Magnex bracket for the front chassis. IIRC it's becuase all Magnex's have flexi joints to its to stop the exhaust sagging here, hereas standard Scorpian and Mongoose dont have a flexi.
