hey folks i need help with this!! ive set all the mechanical timing again yesturday and got the cam and crank sensors sorted with the gapping and still it pops and bangs?? my uncle said to knock the crank back a tooth to see if that help and it did it reved up nd stuff but it was a bit chappy because its out of time of course! just put it back in time there and back to poping and banging!!! any ideas folks? thanks alot

Whos set up are you using? Is the cam and crank pic up set correctly

Make sure your cam sensor is near enough to the pick up wheel ,mine was a whisker away once and it popped and banged untill i lent on it and it cured it

how far has it got to be set i was told 6 thou?

6 thou is correct. you could go as low as 4thou, can you post some pics of your sensors and triggers set up with cylinder 1 at tdc?

sadly i cant uploads pics mate the trigger on the cam is 4 teeth before tdc and the trigger on the crank is right underneather sensor at tdc hope this is some help

Next question is going to be what ecu, board if any, and what chip for what engine.

the ecu came with the engine i was told it was p8 but you said l6 mate any ideas what i can try?

Then tbh you should send the ecu or just the chip to me so i can see what its ment for. ?
