Default My rolling road result

Had my car set up Friday it made 215 bhp and about 190 lb of torque

But

I'm only making power after 3000 rpm with boost I've been told the turbo is to high spec for boost in low down revs so is abit laggy. But when it comes on boost it launches you like you wouldn't believe and is only set at 14psi

So what do you think as the tuner as told me to change the turbo.

Engine spec

Low comp pistons
Kent cvh 35 cam and vernier pulley
Power engineering chip
-31 actuator
Pace double cap intercooler
Scorpion 2 3/4 stainless exhaust

It's cvh

Think the turbo is a stage 3 t3 but not 100% as was sourced second hand

Oh no I'm more than happy with the power but I'd like the boost to come in abit lower down the rev range.

id be happy with that after 3k is fine for boost coming on i thin, are you running an uprated clutch and gearbox? Just wondering as i will be having a similar set up, also was your standard fuelling able to cope ok?

Seems strange the tuner said turbo too big.i could understand if it was 4000rpm.thats fine,if anything that good.
My t3 kicks in full at about 2800rpm and mine aint uprated far as im aware.

I think what he was trying to say was if the turbo wasn't a high spec as it is I'd make more power down the rev range but then I'd lose power up the rev range so it's one of those where do you go with it or just leave it alone.

But I am very happy with it

Yeah can see where he coming from.its just one of them things.just means you be hitting your max figures later on.which at 3000rpm is lovely.

Can you post the graph up, would be interesting to see! On boost at 3,000rpm peaking at 215bhp should be a nice graph!

Where was it setup and yeah get the graph up mate!
IME Stage 3 T3's normally make more torque than bhp because of the way the come on boost, wonder why yours is the other way round, what are you using for boost control?

Good graph shame the figures arent in a human language lol, a intercooler upgrade would be a good choice next as i dont think the double capacity ones are great for temps.
You can see a nice kick when the turbo comes on and the power and torque climb nicely from there... I think!

Good power mate, mine is almost the same spec, so anywhere near yours would be great.

Are you sure the turbo is a stage 3 T3? Just because of the lag. I would maybe even look into your chip. Other than that, I would have a smile on my face.

Great power for a 1.6!

Its nearly impossible to have high power at low boost levels, and at the same time make low rpm power. The stage 3 turbo is great for upper rpm power.

Even non turbo Hondas do not make significant power until 5000 rpm
