Brakes upgrade problems. Please help
This is my problem. My mk4 estate (non-turbo, it's got a Fiesta RS1800 zetec in it) has just had some braided brake lines fitted.
Now, after numerous bleeds, DIY and professionally, the brakes only bite properly at the bottom of the travel and knowone has found why.
There's definatly no leaks as it's not loosing fluid, a different master cylinder has been tried and the vacuum pipe isn't blocked.
The servo seems to have a lot of brake fluid in it so this seems to be the only thing it can be?
Is it possible that I burst a seal in the servo when I first bled the brakes myself? I have a 2.0L mondeo at my disposal if I can use that? With my existing master cylinder?
Other than that, any ideas? Thaaaanks people

And what else did you change? was it only the brake lines?
Its possible you are sucking it air, through a bleed nipple or brake union.
The servo should not have ANY fluid in, this will be down to the master cylinder not the servo.

Just change the whole master cylinder and servo combo. You problem is definately in there. The master is gone if you have fluid in your servo. And your servo is also worth replacing if it has had a lot of brake fluid inside.

The master has leaked into the servo which means they are both fucked, if you use the mondeo one you may need compensating valves to reduce the pressed to the rear lines if you aren't using rear discs and he mondeo did

Is it possible to suck air in through a nipple or union without the leak being big enough to leak fluid out from the hole?
thanks for the help
