Default Turbo leaking oil

My new turbo looks to have been leaking oil, I've been under car to start removing parts to do a few winter repairs. Looked up at the turbo and theres oil underneth it. Car has been sat in garage since november 30th and started up twice since.

Its only done around 750 miles, and around 600 of them were in 1 outing to okc. The turbo was new from a well known turbo firm.

Has anybody ever had much joy claiming against guarantee on a turbo????

if it leaking out the turbine seal there will be a stain running around the turbine housing
where it bolts to the core

if the turbo is new and to spec on the turbine seal then it should not leak

not unless theres crank case pressure or blocked breather this will push pass the seal
even on a new turbo

yes your right seen it a lot, its tapered fitting and most are over done

check oil feed and then oil return flanges are flat

if iit was the turbine seal should smoke a bit but i have had it where it stiil leaks from behind the heat shield

I will get a pic, spoke to the supplier today, they have offered to have a look at it, although they have said its probably due to the fact that the cars been stood for around 10 weeks and started up for a minute or two on 2 occasions.

They said run it up to temf or drive for an hour and then have a look, not gonna drive it till April so when its back together I will let it run and get properly hot.

There is no smoke whatsover

That to me sounds like a load of crap.A new turbo shouldn't leak what so ever.I'm sure most people would agree with that.Unless of cause its a fault in the build.Standing or not does'nt make a difference.Seal's should do their job.Hope you get this sorted dude!

if the oil feed is standard it should be fine, oil presure have you put an uprated pump in there?

the seal can still leak even if its new ,engine may be poor condition
the seal does not seal completely as you ave to have movement in the shaft
it relise on exhaust back presure, bigger exhaust bigger turbine housing
lessens back presure and can cause a problem

20/50 oil makes the turbo larst longer ,most turbos are running higher than standard a get a lot hotter
better protection

Default 59 plate rs focus

Just had my rs in for service at ford then noticed oil on drive way, checked level it was over full mark! Took it back to ford and they say it's the turbo oil feeder pipe broken, is this down to overfilling you think? It's only done 22k and all it's had is remap.
