Default anyone know the standard bore size of an rs turbo please?

as above,standard are they 80mm?

cheers gus,i have a spare bottom end for my s2 and im told they are saab pistons,dunno if its true or not. but they arent standard, they have very small valve cut outs and the centre of the piston looks ever so slightly domed up. need to get hold of some digital verniers and measure the bores,i roughly measured it as good as i could with a tape measure and it looks to be around 83mm,obviously that wont b accurate but does look bigger than 81mm

i will roughly measure the bores in the other engine thats still in the car tomorow as i took the head off today and see what that size roughly is lol

really?? will have to get some verniers on my spare engine as im sure they are alot bigger than that!!!!

81.5mm is the largest you can go safely.

The old CVH engine was built in 5 grades of size, if you dig out the Haynes it details them all in there.

i know of a couple of engines going to 86!

thats close imo but they work and never failed
