Default 2wd calipers

hi all. iv gone and done a twatish thing and brought 2wd front caliper, 2wd front discs, yellowstuff pads and braided lines and had the caliper machined by 4mm and had my hubs drilled and tapped to m12 so i can fit them to my rs1600i that im restoring from the ground up. im just waitting on my gaz coilovers to turn up so i can fit them but iv just read in old posts that the 2wd front brakes dont fit under s1 wheel and im totaly gutted!!!

what is it that causes them not to fit under the wheels? is there any way at all to make them fit? can i machine the face or the caliper a little and fit wheel spacers?

i really need help on this so any advice would be great

thanks

Pretty sure you will find that you need 4wd discs to go with 2wd calipers (4pots) as its the other way round for 4wd calipers (ie 2wd discs with 4wd calipers) if using 15inch wheels.

Pretty sure the calipers will then fit.

Maybe someone else can confirm?

you deffo won't be able to use 4wd discs as these sit another 8mm further out than the 2wd ones

you should be able to put your calipers up and trial them against the discs etc on the car but you'll need the cosie weel to test against

He's already Machined them for the ofsets. I think you need to space the wheel slightly to get it to clear the caliper.

thanks for your replys, Dose the caliper catch on the inside of the wheel spokes or is the whole setup to big and rub in the inner rim.

I really need my coilovers to turn up so I can play around with them and see what the problem is but there not due for another 2 weeks so in tryin to find out as much as I cam till then
