Default RS Turbo spark problem

OK so recently my RST decided it didn't want to start, but it had been standing. Gave it a tow and it started but was missing quite badly, wouldn't idle so towed it home again and checked the plugs to find no spark on 1 or 2. Plugs are new, cap is new, arm is new leads are all good.

I think I saw a spark from the starter or alternator to the block, so I need to look into that in the morning, this is the point I gave up for today until I inspect that wiring.

Here's the weird thing, the car would turn over not wanting to start then when i turned the key off it would sound as if it was actually trying to start for a split second. I've lso noticed that when I turn the ignition off I get a spark from the coil, as well as when cranking.

Do you think it all boils down to a wiring problem on the starter or alternator? I'm gonna strip it down and give it all new sleeving and connections tomorrow...
