lambda fitting for wideband sensor

lambda fitting for wideband sensor
will be fitting a wideband sensor for my megasquirt but how far from the turbo do you mount a lambda?

Mine is in the exhaust just past the back of the sump.

the closer you can get to the turbo the better. I fit them in the downpipe just before it curves under the engine.

Is it not recommended they are at least 12" past the turbo or they cook real quick?
