Hi
Due to easily warping front brake setup (rst caliber/2wd cosworth disks)
i am planning to buy some kind of uprated front brake package in new.
Burton has some packages but price (690£+postage) is maybe too much for me. So can someone recommend disc, braket & caliber package under £500 which will work 100% sure and not warp discs in first 500km...
Btw. hubs and discs in my current setup are new and calibers refurbhished. 200-300km and
those discs are warped. I have been fighting 2 years now with vibrating front brakes, after
skimming the discs they are fine ... but not long.
PS! i will use 15" standard rs turbo wheels so i think 280mm brakes are max. In rear i have 273mm cosworth 4x4 complete brake setup.

300mm Mondeo calipers + pads with ST170 Discs fit under some 15s!
I use them on my orion, wiv 16" alloys and they stop superbly!
I've used them twice on track with yellowstuff pads and never had them fade... Where as my old ERST 260mm Discs + Greenstuff pads i could get to fade on the road. So these are a vast improvement!

I already have cosworth 2wd discs in the front but reason why i am upgrading is that discs keep warping all the time. I dont want use bigger alloys because stock rims make car handle better than 16-17"..

If you are using S2 calipers and cosworth discs, the pads dont contact the whole disc and would cause uneven heat in the discs maybe causing them to warp!? I've heard about this before with "spacer" kits using calipers on bigger discs.
Try cosworth calipers as they'll b an improvement in braking too!

Replace the RST Calipers and spacer with Escos/sapph 4x4 calipers. As said above, greater surface contact area with the disk to dissipate heat.
Pluss, it will fit under RST Wheels!

I think those are one piston type, same as rs turbo standard calibers? If i buy these calibers straight from the 4x4 cosworth do i need some brackets to fit those in my rs turbo front hubs? How about my rs turbo brake lines, direct fitment?
I will buy set of new brake discs in spring, maybe ebc "made in britain" 105£ or some from burton performance. I live in Finland and there is not so many sierra 2wd cosworth discs available. I currently have cheapest ones, cost about €60 / pair so they might be crap too and cause this warping.

i run 4x4 caliper with DS2500 pads and 2wd discs and ive never had a prob with warping. i replaced the brake fluid and went on to braided lines and it has a great peddle feel.

Can you help me where i can find 4x4 front calibers for reasonable price? Do i need some brackets to fit 4x4 calibers to rs turbo hubs?

the discs and calipers came on my van when i bought it, so im not sure on the make of the discs. but burtons sell all makes of discs.
Paul form North yorkshire RS spares will be able to supply you with a set of calipers, just drop him a pm. he always helps us out when we need cossie parts.
theres no need for brackets as they bolt stright on, well mine do, but im not sure if they have been moddified. you might need to space them with washers.
thanks nik

Antti, if you look at the sticky at the top of the room you'll see it's really easy. No modifying or brackets required, just a few washers. Use Either sierra cosworth 4x4 or Escort cosworth callipers, both the same.
I ran mine with Ferodo DS pads and standard cosworth 2wd disks. As nik says, go for braided lines at the same time. Never warped mine once. Needless to say, they'll be going on my cabby when I get my ass into gear!
