Default think ive had enough

getting to the stage were im thinking ive had enough of rs turbos had mine advertised but havent really had much interest just stupid p/x offers even tho ive put it at a ridicusoly low price imo

dont really know what to do weather to pull it to bits or see what the new year brings

its just seems to be alot of money in the garage tied up doing nothing as it only gets used in good weather

anybody else started to think like this?

I felt like this a few times,it took me years to get it finished and now I'm lucky if it does 500-1000m a year, but its still in the garage and I still love driving it when I do. If you can afford to keep it, keep it as you may regret it

I've thought about throwing the towel in a few times recently, but I really enjoy the car and know I will regret it as I did when I sold my s1 when I was younger

I would only sell/break if your desperate for the money mate. My cars more of a hobbie just love working on it. Only covered 3000miles in my series 1 in 5 years. These cars are only going up in value these days so letting them sit in garage's is only gonna make it go up in value.

tbh lack of power and reliabilty are 2 things my car really doesnt suffer from

it just annoys me not being able to leave it anywhere and im begging to think the money would be better spent elsewhere

You will sell it/break it and regret it mate! these cars are for the occasional blast and not for daily drives imho! ive sold my stuff a lot of times over and in the long run it costs you more cos you buy again and again so just stick with it lol, think of it as an investment! as long as you aint spending 1k a month on it lol

unless your desperate for the cash then just leave it till weather warms up a bit then get it mapped then get to a few shows with it and some pod action, youv've done the hard work and surely the spending money side is done now so just be patient i use mine in all weathers just so i don't get this way with it and to justify the money i've put into it

Well, as I've said on here before. I went from one of the biggest power CVH RST's ever built to something that has 100bhp less and weighs at least 250kg more and now, a year on, I'm still loving it.

Most people that know me have seen the positive difference in me since I got rid of the Escort. I'm more chilled out and we are getting more stuff done around the house that I never had the time or inclination to do before.

10 years of fun for me and I don't regret it, but not once have I looked back and wanted to do it again.

If you've got to that point where the agro outweighs the fun, it's time to throw the towel in and move on.

Tbh mate, the escort has ruined my life lol, I've been OCDing it for the last year, its taken every weekend i have and has cause so many arguments with the gf its unreal. I will be happy when its done, but can't see me keeping it for years on end.

If it were me and you've accomplished all you want with it, sell it next year and get a normal fast car lol, m3 etc.

Wouldn't even bother advertising it now mate, no one wants to spend the money this close to xmas.

Rob,

realistically if i sold my car and put what i got for it down as a deposit the money i spend per month would get me a 30k car

I've started having an RS in the summer then selling it before the winter and that comes, the last S2 I had was a pleasure to have, but the minute I sold it and got into a big comfy Mondeo was great.

Good thing is, after driving a fairly mundane car over the winter, makes me look forward to gettin another RS for the summer shows

ive broke up my project s1 and brought a 500bhp+ 3dr cossie with autronic sm4 gt35 1000cc injectors and loads more that i can just jump in and go for a spin .....

it needs bodywork but thats something i dont need to spend time in the cold doing as someone else will....

if your bored i would say to get a mk1 frs with about 280/290bhp they are great fun and mine was the best car ive had for the money....

they are nice and new and easy to drive but real fun on the back roads and still pretty quick

Wait till the better weather comes and as soon as you hear that turbo sucking and whistling you'll have a huge grin on your face.

Keep it mate.

Entirely up to you fella.

I've decided to have a cut off point with the car (being efi) and once done I'm just going to drive it and use it!

I don't see myself selling and nor do plan to go crazy with further mods. I think it will stay with me for a while even if it eventually gets tucked up in the garage and rarely used!

I was like that, but there is always something else you can do
My car was technically finished months ago but since then I've bought new dials, complete new interior, new sound system, new alarm, have just got a 0.48 exhuast housing and am looking at more dials, new mirrors, wheel spacers, power steering and NOS
The list just seems to keep growing

But I have had it about 4 years and will be keeping it till I die or come into enough money to by a Lambo lol
