ticking over @2000 rp. when warm
as above fitted a oil breather from auto speacialists and is ticking over at 2000 rpm just wondering if any 1 else has come across this and if its normal after fitting 1

lmao i know what your saying jano will it be safe to drive if i stay off boost for a bit as i am contemplating going efi anyway ad am trying to get round the missus as i have a near enough brand new bottom end and dnt want to risk scrapping another 1 due to crap fuelling issues mfi rsts suffer with lol

If your talking about oil seperator tank then yes this rev increase happens.i had the same happen.the small vaccum hose that should go from left side of inlet to the back of oil seperator needs to be only few mm wild inside.too big will increase revs.or you could just block both ends.

cheers mate take it s nothing major to worry about then tried a thinner piece of hose now ticks over at 1200 rpm can live with that if its nothing major to worry about

Yeah,i got plastic adaptor too,so i could run smaller hose than what the seperator took,just to get the revs down.shorter the hose helps too.did you keep the one way valve that originally went to the old breather? Turn the idle valve in slightly to help.When this happened to me,took me awhile to get my head round it.if you need pics,let me know.

Basically your giving the metering unit more air to play with,hence the rev increase.blocking the breather hose to the metering unit would also be a option.nothing to worry about.

no mate thats why i started to worry about the rev increase lol i got a thinner diameter blue piece of vacum hose from the local spares shop and it dropped the revs from 2k to 1200 k but woul like those pics if youv'e got them please essex to get it running spot on lol

Ok mate.ill take some tomorrow for you.im currently using the method of having the metering unit blocked,as since i fitted that oil seperator i notice more oil going into the metering unit,as was used alot during summer period.currently have breather filter on it until i get the dosh to add a catch tank.

my breather never had this little pipe on it you sure you not got a efi one as mine only had the bigger pipe outlets and was slightly bigger unless it's to do with brands i had a baileys one
