Also been thinking-- you could relocate the horns to inside drivers side wheel arch, just behind front bumper where washer bottle is on other side, would be plenty of room wouldnt there to fit them there.
It's easy to do if you just want to just move the fuse box, but you want to hide the wiring totally to make it worthwhile otherwise the bay will still be full of wiring, which is where the time comes in. Horns get relocated to the drivers side as you said.

You need to extend, headlights, wing repeaters, indicators, sidelights, horns, battery cable, starter motor dash wire, washer bottle, new earth from block to chassis, thermostat wire, coilpack/coil wireing.

Then theres the Cossie loom, no point hiding the car loom if there's the management wires everywhere and so the vicious cycle continues

I wish I had relocated my washer bottle to the boot as well now.

Tbh mate i wasnt gonna go totally mad and was just going to eliminate having the wiring being visible down the sides of the wings in the bay. Was going to keep the cossie loom on show as its going to be a smart ryan braided loom.

Been working on it this morning and played with the washer tubing, is now running in the passenger wing and comes out through a hole right near back of engine bay near the bulkhead, again so nothing is running up side of engine bay.

Done a bit more work on the fuse box this afternoon. Few pics:

Hole drilled.

Fuse box in rough position.

Wiring through inner wing.

Wiring in wheel arch.

Wiring through hole above front crossmember.

Want the wiring going though the crossmember but layed it here so i can see what needs to be extended.

Like Muz said its all got to be extended after the trial fit. Lights both side, fan, fuse box live, wiper motor and washer pump (going in boot) all need extending.

Nice work Matt. I didnt look at my loom today, mainly played with the washer tubing as said in my above post.

Can see where u have pic of it going through hole above cross member that the wiring will need extending a fair bit, by seeing where that light wiring has ended up.

Im a bit concerned about all this talk of of fuse box live? where does that wire run from and to?

Fuse box live is the 2 thick red wires that run from the battery to the fuse box. It takes the same path as the wiper motor then along the heater box to the battery.

Like the fact all the insides of your front end is apinted Matt in the arches etc? Has it always been like that or did u paint it? I was thinkig of getting some radiant red mixed up and brushing it on in here.

Thats the right idea, Matt. Makes it a little easier when you leave some holes for the wiring to go through Also make sure you don't mount the fusebox too high, as If a fuse goes you might not be able to change them as the dash is in the way.

They come out of the bottom of the fuse box and go direct to battery. One is thick red, one is think red/blue.

In the pic the fuse box is at the wrong angle, should be facing down but the bloody thing kept pointing up for the photo

Just get a tin of Hammerite and roller them on, you don't see much of the inner wings when the liners are on anyway.

Im back lmao!!!

Yeah the thick red wire and red/blue wire are still there. Think i just got paranoid as hadnt looked at the loom for a good 3 weeks now and couldnt picture them lol. Its just in a big box at the moment.

Yeah Muz i was just going to roller it on or brush as like u say theres arch liners anyway. Mines a kinda dusting of red colour at moment.

Thats a good point Matt, as i was just going to use some red wire that i have on a roll here. I guessed thicker rather than thinner is safe. Am i right?

Lol, no. I recycled some of the old MFI wiring, and used wire my dad had up the barn in the right gauges. The only new wires I used were power to relays, and fuel pump wires all of which were 33AMP.

I really should test it and take some photos now it's finished.

Muz, so am i right in thinking u cant have wire which is too thick, its better being safe than sorry yeah? I have a big roll of red wire, about roughly 5mm thick.

You can't really have wire which is too thick, apart from cost and space really in this case as you're unlikely too use a cable so big it would be inefficient.

If you're talking about 5mm diameter though I would say this is too big for the loom wires, as far as space goes. The standard stuff is about 2mm.

yeah think i exagerated when i said its 5mm, think mine is about 3mm, thats ok isnt it? Or do u have to also think about resistances etc of wiring?

Weird question, but how did u go about securing it in the wings? As im thinking if i run it there i can have the holes welded up in engine bay but obviously theres nonthing on other side inbetween the wings to secure clips to unless i use the original holes, which would then leave bolt heads visible in engine bay, if that makes sense.
right just under the wing lip in the engine bay i drilled holes out of sight ,then got them push in clips with the cable tie attached ,push through the hole from under the wing job done

Thanks for the pics Dave, looks superb.

Seeing your last pic there with the arch liner in place is making me think im going to have to be careful where i mount the horns as the liner intrudes right into the space there doesnt it. Going to take alot of trial fitting but will be worth it, plus im not worried about where i mount things like that as car wont be used in bad weather anyway.

Thats what i thought Matt, looks like hes made up a bigger box section. I dont personally reckon we'll need to do that, my loom will run through their fine.

Im not sure because i dont want to drill holes in either end of the crossmember, may weaken it? Lets see how Dave did it...

Thats a good point which i hadn't thought of, im sure a perfect round hole wouldn weaken it too much would it? On his it looks as if he has done away with the hole end of section.

Hes got alot of wiring running through there hasn't he.

Looks good Dave i like the way thats done. I think im just going to drill a small hole in each end of the crossmember.

You don't need a massive hole anyway, Matt. I've used all the standard holes in the front end into the front cross member and I've also got a massive battery cable running through which dave hasn't as my battery is in the boot.
