Default Where can i get these parts?

Hi all,

Bought an IB5 out of a diesel escort, any one know what release bearing to use? apparently needs to be from a mk5b change over. Asked at fords and the parts man had a melt down and couldn't understand why i would want one on an RS turbo.

Head Dowels? Does any body sell them apart from ford?

Main cap bolts, are there just two different types? again the ford man shat his brains through his mouth because they didn't list a 'set' and didn't want to order them individually 'In case'????

Fucking Mongtard. It was like trying to order parts for a vauxhall, he just didn't have a clue.

Their prices are unbelievable too, hand brake cable £70!!!! release bearing £45. Last time i went i skidded all over my boxers when he told me how much a water pump and oil pump were! like nearly £200 each.

Cheers

Rob,

Rob,

ford dealers are a joke.
lmao they guy also shat his brain through his mouth when i asked for the front cv boots, clutch and ABS sensor from a sierra cossy and the oil filter and air filter from a granada cossy and then could only give him the reg of a p100. and then tried to charge me 36 quid EACH for front CV boots and something daft like 400 for the clutch, i didnt even let him get me the other quotes. just walked out :')

got the boots for a fiver and clutch for 70 at the DMA

Its crazy isn't it, they really couldn't give a fuck. Walked into a bmw dealership a few weeks ago for a bonnet cable, the guy appologied because it wasn't in stock, gave me a coffee and got their sister dealership to drop one over AND the massive cable with mech attached was £24 including VAT!

According to my local ford dealers, the main cap and big end bolts are no longer serviced
So ARP's for your bolts and everything else from your local factors

With the main cap bolts, I'm not sure if theres two types of bolts, but there are two types of bearings so if you're building make sure you get the right ones so you're not scratching your head for two weeks wondering why your engine wont turn over by hand when all the clearances are ok

Dont be like that Rob, I wouldnt want you or anyone else to think like that, i go out my way to help anyone. Just because we might not agree on a subject does not mean i wouldnt want to either advise and help you the next time with another subject and even do bussiness with you in the furture. Im here representing my company, thats the last thing i want.

If you had called me i would of given you the correct part number for the part you need and even offer you a FREE good secondhand one, i have many to choose from.

Like i say im here to help not get into politics and leave bad vibes.

I dont trade on here so i cant just reply to a thread when someone needs something, all it takes is a quick webpage swap, email, phone call, txt, msn etc and you will get all the info you will need from me.

Hope this changes your views a little.
Regards
Jano

I've got two different blocks, one takes the old style bearings and my new one takes the... newer style bearings, i did scratch my head for a while lol.

Cant believe they don't sell main cap bolts! there are indeed two different types, one plain bolt and the other has some thread sticking out the top to locate the pic-up pipe, and burtons only list one

why a deisel box?
Because my mate wiv a 300 brake rst said they was the strongest init.....

joking aside lol, its a straight fit IB5 minus the random release bearing, starter on the front low down, same mounts etc, I've been told a few different things about main shafts and drive shafts but we shall see come monday/tuesday lol Shitty diesel ratios, but being an IB5 i can mix and match ratios later with different models (when i fit my lsd).

Cheers all

Rob,
I've got ten of the main cap bolts(new, ford parts dept lol) - all? with the threaded bit for the oil pick up.
Jano is sorting me out with the plain ones at a sensible price, so if you want a couple
of the threaded ones, pm me your address and I'll send you them.

Been in a drawer for ten years so I probly got them
a lot cheaper then. Can't actually remember how many are needed with the thread
on the end but since it's certainly not ten, you can have them for nowt.
I'm keeping some and Jano will sort me with the plain ones
Somebody can confirm how many with the threaded bits needed for the oil pick up,
I'll send you that amount.

Thats the good news,

The bad news is i stripped my oil pump today and its knackered, ordered a new ford jobbie... wait for it............. £202 fucking pounds later hopefully he can sort me a discount lol

Rob,

I dont agree with all your comment im a ford tech, dont get me wrong weve got one dip shit in the stores but the bloke i get to sort my bits is unquestionably brilliant, most of the older parts he knows finis codes of by heart, and he will go out of his way to find parts for me.

Mate with all due respect, im sure your branch is great, my friend works in Crawley and his local dealership is meant to be superb. However, my dealership is shit, the people (for the most part) are shit, the service is shit. There isn't a lot that isn't shit.

Today i stood behind a lump of one way glass, the office was full of people behind, couple kept glancing over, just talking amongst them selves. Still took 10mins for some one to come out and help. I walk into my local BM dealership and get served instantly whilst someone else offers me a coffee, the parts are cheaper than ford, they keep the parts in stock for a 3 model back 3 series in stock 9/10 and are generally just nicer.

I say most of the people, because the other day i met a nice bloke who loves his rst's who sorted me out with all the parts i needed.

If Carlsberg Did motorcraft

All i can say, you probably haven't been there so probably don't know. I just wish my local dealership was more like your branch.

Jano,

Think the prices have gone up, or different companies charge different amounts? but he gave me a small discount and it worked out at £190. Still a bit fecking steep though lol.

Rob,

fair enough just didnt want all the ford parts people to be tarnished with the same brush.
if you need any genuine bits if they have not been discontinued i can get 30 percent off.

Lovely, nice to know fella! And honestly i wasn't saying their all like that, i know their not as said, and im happy i met the bloke who sorted me out. Probably makes it more annoying tbh. because my dealership must know there are better ford establishments out there and are too lazy to improve.
