Default tuners -nms/jamsport etc

morning all,

just wanted to know whether nms still worked on new customers rst's and same for jamsport (as they appear very st/ cossie focussed-jamsport)

not had a chance to ring them yet but would be nice to know beforehand.

Cheers

In all honesty I think Karl (NMS) prefers the old rs turbo to be on good management, i.e cossie or aftermarket as the old mfi shit is getting so unreliable they spend longer pissing about with that than setting the cars up. Not gospel by any stretch but you can see their/his point. Both great outfits though i.e. jamsport or NMS and wouldnt hesitate to take mine to either, although I do prefer NMS. The tuners may appear focus / cossie orientated as thats where the money is I guess. But they both know how to knock out some serious RST engines. On paper Id go so far as to say they make the best out there.

they are the best at making the quickest cvh's with ease ....

and above the gt28 is custom specced to the car with an over the gearbox manifold and yes its a bloody good spec as its as punchy as a stage 2 t3 but specced to run 350bhp

I know this will start another argument...

But i found TOTD to be spot on, loads of runs, spot on fueling adjusted actuator, replaced loads of clips and stuff for free etcetc, ended up with a really reliable nice driving car, all for Ł95.

Im sure Jamsport are great, NMS are legendary, MSD are well known and Jano seems to have loads of customers who swear by him.... so any of the above and you cant really go wrong.

Cant comment on the other tuners mentioned as ive had no need to use them since i went to oddkidd creations. Im sure there all good but at least when you go to janos you know that you wont ever be overcharged & it will only ever jano working on your car

Give a few different places a call and have a chat see who you get on with the best. a lot of the time certain tuners will be better with certain management setups.

If you want GREAT value for money, only one person to work on your car and a Beast of a set up Janos your man. www.oddkiddcreations.co.uk even just browsing the site you will see how clued up he is.

I remember when i first got my rst i didn't have a bloody clue, after meeting muz he told me to go see jano and The thing that has made me stick with jano is that he wouldn't do ANY work on my car without explaining and showing me what he was doing and why i was spending my money on the setup. This really appealed to me Don't think i would go anywhere els.

Jamsport wouldn't even let me in the workshop for 'insurance' purposes! When a friend of mine went for a setup on his rst they didn't charge him extra to set the actuator and they let him in the workshop

Which is exactly what I like, I rather someone gets the jobs done than simply rush the car in and straight back out or keep the car forever and not do anything and if they see bodges they inform and inform to correct.

There is always going to be good and bad reviews of company's.

You need to find a tuner individual to you who you get on with, most people can only speak highly of jano so i would always choose him.

Just to say as well that one of the best things about having jano tune your car is all of the support you get from other members. EVERY single of of his members that i have met have been top class and are always willing to help you out.

Jano is certainly a top bloke and he does the work he does for the love of what he does not to rip people of and make money.to me and im sure the other ock lads jano is more of a mate than anything else and just like conor says he explains and shows you everything he does.when i had my fiesta mapped i was there for around 6 hours and after loads of checks and setting stuff up in the yard its on the road for a live map then back to the yard a few times for different adjustment ect then back mapping.i was charged around Ł200 for all his hard work and i had some stuff off him aswell witch he included in the price and when i drove the 180miles home is was a complete diferent car

Sorry I meant an mfi setup as the cars been sat for the last 6months and not had a setup for the last 2 years. I don't think he would live map that on the road?

Being mfi its static tuning if that makes sense

i have all my work carried out at jamsport, jamies a top bloke, always willing to help and will always offer advise, i find there prices realistic. they are always absolutely flat out and this is a good sign as loads of people must respect them. they always seem willing to take me car in and work on it when they get chance though which is great, wouldn't use anybody else!

I need to get mine set up when i've fitted it, but is there only Motorsport Developments in the North West that still work on rs turbo's or have they even changed to working on more modern cars now?

Cheers Jono.
