Correct Spec

Correct Spec
hello all, my escort was first registered 14 feb 1989. now what spec should the car be?? 90 spec spoiler, bumpers ect or 88 spec with smaller spoiler, bumpers ect? want to get the car back to its original state. any help would be great.

I would say its 88 spec bumper and spoiler and 90 spec recaros mate

when i got the car its had 88 spec front bumper, 90 spec interior, 90 spec spoiler.

I believe that is correct apart from the spoiler. I have a tidy 88 spec spoiler if you need one, don't want much for it

My old RST was biult in 89 and registered on a G. It was full 90 spec.
Have a look at all of the date stamps on your panels, wheels etc.

Mine is also a very late 89 G and is full 90 spec.

Early 89 were 88 spec outside and 90 interior

First time ive heard of that,being 90spec inside and 88 outside on production.could always ask the guys at dunton to check that out.

mine is jan 89 on a F plate
90 spec seats 88 spec bumper/spoiler when i got mine

No m8 its not strange at all have had loads of f plates 1988 and 89, the 88 ones were (majority) 88 spec front bumper and rear spoiler 88 spec interior, 89 were normally 90 spec recaros and 88 spec bumper and spoiler from the factory occasionally you will see it different but thats where the owners have changed the interior or headlining or bumpers and spoilers
