what lifters were supplied in the kit? Chances are they wasnt decent ones as there is no reason that a cam should fail like that from any company. However i have heard about off batches of cams and lifters in the past from most of the leading manufactors having faults of some sort. Hence why the antipump lifter was removed off the shelf.
There have been enough warnings on here, anyone that still runs one must be mad. Its surely not possible to have not seen at least one of the threads on here about it.

As above......anyone that uses passionford and ignores advice not to use a kent cam must indeed be silly, SO many failiures it's unreal regardless of whether or not they should fail!
I had 2 let go in the space of 1000 miles, but that was a few years back when the newman's had only just came out, but swapped to newman and certainly lasted better.
I did wear out a newman though so not saying they're amazing but certainly the best of a bad bunch......the cvh engine is renowned for it's poor lubrication to the head resulting in premature cam wear anyway!

Ask me a question!

I dont think there is an issue with Kent cams.
Or at least the last 100 or so i have supplied and fitted. In fact i have had more issues with Newman parts (NOT THE CAMS) The lifter bodies come loose from the bottom securing nut! I do use solid lifters with most of the cam setups i supply, which hasnt got an equivalent off the shelf kit, which most people buy. These off the shelf kits contain the so called failing parts as far as i can make out from my experiance. I will carry on having confidence in Kent and Newman Camshafts untill i actually have an issue myself.

wow, result mate.
fingers crossed on the new cam. get jamsport to install it and sort it out so you have the same run in so they cant say its your fault if it happens again.

good point.
rather than go through the hassle of shifting it on why dont you call kent and say you don't trust their cams anymore and dont want to risk your engine so just want a full refund.

My CVH36 was fine for 20k miles. It's now in my apprentices engine.
I'm on a Newman which has only done about 3k but hasn't worn out yet.
I did run the engine at 2k rpm for 20 minutes with the Kent but never got chance to with the Newman as I was on a fresh ECU which had to have a map built almost from scratch before it'd run.
