Had a alarm fitted today by gap security and basically the drivers doors is not working properly, when you go to push the button to turn the alarm on the drivers door doesnt seem to want to lock making the passengers door lock bounce back open ! he seems to think it just needs lubing up due to sometimes not often though it did work.

Have you guys had much trouble with the central locking?

i would like to know this aswell because when i go t lock mine it unlocks itself grrrr

 

Do both of your door locks move? the re-open?

 

sounds to me mate that the rod on the solanoid in the door is sticking or not in the right place causing the lock not to operate fully so returning to its normal position.

Good old rst even when they had all the time and money that you have put into it they still fuck up.!

did he test the lock on its own to see if it works???

the drivers lock is connected to the passenger side and is wired from the drivers side.

have a check

 

When he first tried it it did work then it didnt then it did then it didnt then we stoped trying and he got on with the rest of the wiring, then went back to it and it work a few time on the trot then just stoped working all together ! like i said the passengers door works fine but the drivers door dont... it has enoyed me to say the least !

i took the door card off and had a look but to be honest i dont have a clue, sprayed some wd40 on the rods etc and had a look at the connector and the connector is fine because the lock wants to lock but then decides it doesnt ! Fucking thing.

 

sounds knackered, pm tabetha off here, he's clued up about alarms etc. he may be able to advise.

Mine stopped working all together, drivers side, but the rest still locked.

You sure it hasn't been wired incorrectly, as it uses pulses to arm and disarm, could they be mixed up?

Here's a simple suggestion, (maybe) the alarm maybe getting electrical noise from the lock, thereby confusing the alarm, particulary (sorry spelling aint so good) if the locks well worn. Did the car have remote central locking originally or was it the old key in hole job.

when i lock or unlock my car with keyfob it done work! and when i use the key its works fine evreytime

when i use the fob it makes the right noises like its trying to work but doesnt! also i think its standard ford fitment from factory upgrade thats what ive been told! grey recangular fob and has two grey buttons only thing i thot it was maybe old style cobra fobs as that what it reminds me of!
