Default My restoration questions. brakes and lines

Hello.
The rst is being completely repainted and should look really flash so i thaught i would make this thread becuase i know im gunna have alot of questions about things i want to replace and change so WATCH THIS SPACE

Firstly I want to replace all my standard fuel and brake lines with braided items as well as remove the abs.

where can i get braided fuel lines from the rail all the way back with the fuel press adapter on ?
Also I want to replace ALL of the brake lines with braided items i know you can get the set with the 4 lines from the calliper to the main line but i want the replace the whole thing so anyone know where I can get this from.

On top of that i was thinking about replacing the horrid looking servo thing with a comp brake pedal box imo they look so much better and with this car looks as just as important as everything els . I don’t know anything about brakes so i want to know what’s involved with fitting on of these is it a direct replacement or do i have to mod/change anything els.

This is the one

fitting is relatively straight forward. box mounts to bulkhead, you use existing brake bar.

one master cylinder for the front two brakes, and the second cylinder for the rears

you will need to re route your pipes accordingly.

I was going to go down this route but have decided not to, let me know how you get on

oh and as for braided lines, you can buy it by the metre and make it up yourself, not to difficult at all.

i wouldnt use braided for the complete brake system, allthough they flex less than the rubber pipes they will still flex more than the metal ones so id stick with metal pipes and a braided one for each corner

i done all my s1 in braided and along with front cossy discs its fine

as said its easier to buy a coil and the fittings and make your own up to length ,fix to car with stainless p clips. but the fitting are quite expensive.

So the pedal box i am refering to mounts on the bulk head and uses the esxisting brake bar ? except it uses one for for the fron brakes and one for the rear.

how would the brake bias set up work then ? would i need to run two. sorry i am a noob lol

you run two master cyclinders as pictured, you will need to buy a dash adjuster, which is simply a cable that you can turn (bit like those shitty boost adjuster thingys) this is mounted inside the car, depending on which way you turn it will obviously adjust the bias to front or rear

one adjuster, that will then move the balance bar, which in turn will adjust the bias
