Default MFI engine control

Because of my problem descriped in

https://passionford.com/forum/ford-e...s-on-dyno.html

I would like to know the engine control on a MFI engine, because i don't know enough of this at the moment

I know fuelling is set by the flap of the K-jetronic, but does the ECU influence fuelling by measuring anything? TPS?

TPS clicks when you give it a little throttle that's the point that the sensor goes from idle to throttle, but does there have to be a click on full throttle? Does my ECU something different when TPS reading is full throttle compared to just some throttle?

I know that the ignition is determined by the ignition unit connected to the camshaft. On what measurements does the ECU influence ignition? How does it infuence the ignition? The connector from the ignition, the 3 pin connector, when you take it off it then the influence of the ECU gone?

I hope somebody can help!

Yes TPS effects fuelling, three positions, idle, open, full.
MAP effects ignition timing, the ECU will advance or retard, also if knock is detected or high ACT's it will retard too.
If you take off the 3 pin plug the engine will not run as the ECU will see no signal.

So about ignition,

Advancing the ignition how is it done by the ECU

Coil is building voltage then the camshaft turns till the points of the rotor hit the distributorcap and then there is a spark right? So how are we able to control that and even advance that? I tought mainly ignition was mechanical

There is no -VE to the coil until the ECU sends it, the ECU knows the cam position from the Hall Effect sensor in the distributer, so the coil does not build voltage until the ECU gives -VE (negative/earth signal).

my series 2 used to suffer from the same sort of thing, holdind back asif it had lost all boost pressure i took it for a setup and they found that when you disconnected the knock sensor on the inlet it ran and boosted fine but if you reconnected it it would boost so much then it would retard the ignition. they said there was a problem within the ecu on the knock sensor circuit and they had seen it loads of times before. there answer was for me to find a series 1 ecu and they swapped my chip over for me and tried again, never had a problem since as the series 1 doesnt have the knock sensor and now she runs like a dream. just a thought dont hold me 2 it but if your stuck its gota be worth a shot.
