lots! its all dependant on engine spec intercooler setup etc its not off a diesel truck is it? useless if it is as they dont like rpm over around 4000rpm and you wouldnt even be making full boost by then!

your injectors are only good for a real 350ish hp .why not just put a t34 on there? Good cheap turbo for that sort of power

The information you've given tells us nothing about the size of it. Also turbo's don't really care what RPM the engine is running at.

was about to say that

the turbo isnt linked to engine speed, just how much air its flowing..

/\ not entirely true that is it though.
the more an engine revs the more gas comes out of it to spin the turbo.
if the turbo is too big for a small displacement engine then it'll need to rev much higher to get enough gas to get it spooling.

Surely it is just the same amount of gas just as a higher velocity due to how hard the engine is reving the displacement doesn't change the more rpm you are doing.

Sean is correct, at higher RPM's the volume passing through the turbine housing will be more per given period, this is why big turbo's make boost later.
So by raising the rev limit to say 9000rpm you would have a power band from like 5500rpm to 9000rpm

Provided you could get a Zetec 2 liter to rev to 9000 with any sort of power at that level.
Duratec head is so far ahead of any Zetec head, and even those require a fair level of
modification to flow enough air for a 9,000 rpm 2 liter.

The 9000rpm figure was just an illustration not a realistic target! lol

pity the blocks don't lend themselves to big power!

They are an alloy blocked engine, which is great for high revving N/A but they don't like the cylinder pressures a turbo engine puts into them. There are some specialist Mazda racing blocks knocking around but you wouldn't waste your money putting them into an RS.

Oh mad!
IIRC Karl Norris told me it was Duratec blocks that he would be using for his CVH builds now re-sleeved with custom rods, pistons, etc..

hmmm.. I'm 99% sure thats what he said he was going to use, because of the ever increasing failure rate of CVH blocks
I have no idea as I've never looked at them.
