Default s2 front anti roll bar

has anyone got a pic of there one off the car. i took mine off to freshen up and it looks a bit bent??

my pass wheel sat back a bit but with it being a project and the fact the anti roll bar mounts were slack i put it down to that.

It should stay flat on a flat surface. But if you mean that the left and right sides look different, that is how it should be.

i have a similar problem with mine, my nearside wheel is sat further back than the offside. I had the same problem with an xr3 as well, had to change the roll bar and mounts. Only problem youve got is turbo ones are thicker and not so easy to come by in good nick as, i think this is a common prob, and the ones i have looked at have been no good. Youd be better swapping for a s1 set up as its adjustable, again if you can get one.

I always though xr3i and s2 rollbars were the same, and swapping to a s1 setup is not a straight forward swap.

if you dont centre it up in the front mounts, it will kick the wheels all over the place

Listen before you all start looking for rollbars thinking they are bent!!!

The S2 rollbar is not even. If you remove it and look at it carefully you will see that the passenger side is diff to drivers side.

This is because the rollbar was designed so you could remove the gearbox without taking it off.

Not because its bent. So if it doesnt look even. Thats because its bent!

this was duly noted in the 2nd post in the thread, nobody is disputing the rollbar is not symmetrical, drivers side has a much more defined bend than gearbox side. common sense wud say it wud take 1 huge hit to bend the anti roll bar like that if it wasnt meant to be that way, i doubt it wud even be possible without heat and a huge force applied! lol

i think it is simply a case of it not sitting centrally in the front clamps, which forces it to favour 1 side, which results in that wheel being pushed further back in the arch, and the other wheel being dragged forwards to emphasise the issue

I have the same problem on my xr3i with my near side wheel sitting further back in the arch then the offside. Judging by the spare wheel in the boot it looks like it has had an almighty curbing, is the anti roll bar the most obvious candidate to fix the problem?

check if the rollbar has been moved in teh front clamps like said above somewhere. Then the TCA's make sure they are not bent.

Then last the rollbar as it is quite hard to bend them, but of course you can like any bit of metal.

Not only a direct fit, but they are identical parts.
