Default Cross hatch cylinder head???

im looking at cross hatch cylinder head for the s2 on ebay, whats the difference in the normal and cross hatch heads?
will it just bolt straight on my engine?

Wall thickness, meaning you can open the ports out more.
Yes it will fit on, nothing else is different.

Will bolt straight on. They have more meat on them around the water jackets than regular heads to you can fit massive 45mm Inlet valves without breaking through. Most people will never have a spec which requires these though.

correct me if i'm wrong but it's not all cross hatch heads that have more metal around the water jackets? seem to remember someone on here (possibly christian?) said it's down to casting numbers rather than the cross hatch markings on the head as to whether or not it's one of the thicker walled heads.

Correct. You've got to check the serial number on the head to know if it's the 'better' casting or not
