Default C20XE Pistons

Hi could some one please tell me more about this conversion.
Currently running a 2L ZVH the block come from a 1999 mondeo so its the black top model.
I feel like im pushing the limet of my skimmed pistons and its only a matter of time before somthing gives.

From my reading up i have found out if you use the C20let pistons it lowers the compression ratio to much and the c20xe pistons are better suited.

My question is that is the size of the small end? as i would like to fit some con rods too...
http://www.performanceenginecomponen....asp?id=250255

says the small end is 20.63mm but i have no idea what the C20xe ones are?
Any help would be appreciated

Danny

If you are spending that much on the rods mate why don't you just get the proper pistons to go with???? What sort of boost are you running at the moment.

21-22 psi seems pretty damn high on skimmed pistons to me.... but like i said, i noa noffin.

But do know those pistons are suspiciously cheap.

Didnt read any of the thread other than the title which talks about some random pistons out of some random car.

Why wouldnt you just use a decent set of pistons that can be sourced for naff all money nowdays if you do the research.

C20XE pistons are forged and you can get them for about 40 pounds!

A good friend of mine has a zvh and using xe pistons. Using the standard rods he was producing 267bhp. This was with a stage 3 t3 and stage 3 head mfi and 5th injector. he felt this was the limit for the rods so has not pushed it any more. The let piston dish is 13cc and the xe are 2cc. The early ex pistons are forged not the later ones. To tell the difference there is the lepper "P" stamped under the crowns of the pistons.

Most of them are cast then machined fella.
You will be lucky to find any forged pistons for £40 that are worth re-using due to wear.

If you want to pay £40 for a set of pistons and use them in your engine on the chance they will let go and take every other part with them..

Then its not worth giving you any advise, as you have already made your mind up and wont listen to experiance from people on here.

Do it once, do it right.
