Brett,

It seems that the 'g' button might be faulty on your keyboard??

Turn it on prime pump and then undoe the bolt on the metering top if it's leaking u have petrol

Check the return line isnt blocked better yet you can if u have an air line blow through to clean any possible blockage

Last thing is the air return unit thingy i fitted one to mine and it wouldnt fire as it wouldnt prime out the air or something! That's fitted to left side of the metering unit as u look down
ta mate, irl have a look 2moro

lol!

take an injector out, stick it in a jar.
turn the ignition on
with the air filter off push down on the large flap

if fuel squirts into the jar at a rate dictated by the flaps position its a good indication that the metering unit is physically 'metering' the fuel.....

if above goes to plan look elsewhere for the problem

Rob.

Sorry dude but not many places at all recon them, you can't get them new and if you can get a recon or a new one you will pay the world!

When you say its on the way out what do you mean? metering units get a bad rap, but often its other bits that are 'telling' them to do the wrong thing.

well i tested the fuel from the fuel pump under the fuel tank to the front of the car- good
Fuel from the pump to the metering unit-good but then from the metering unit to the injectors - nothing

This is why i assumed its the metering unit that is going?? i cleaned the unit and the air return next to it and car nows runs but for how long??

Oh really, ok that sounds good
Have been told by a few people that the metering unit are pretty bullit proof

Will start driving the car again

Thanks everyone
James

another hijacker!, see the 3 pin unit on the side, i took that off and pulled the rod out, whats the best way to set the 2 fragile contacts on the main rod holding the flap in place if that makes sense?

i see the cover is adjustable to but i can put that on its original marks

tried that, no reply?? i got a shot of a unit, the car wouldnt even fire and the unit moaned at me when i turned the ignition on and winding over.

didnt want to fiddle with it as it wasnt mine.

the problem with mine was the lever for the co adjuster had unclipped and was swinging loose on the main pin holding it all together
